Hidden Gems in the Lehigh Valley

Moving to the Lehigh Valley? Are you a local looking for hidden gems in and around the valley? This is the post for you. Pennsylvania is a place of many beauties, and plenty of places to visit I'd consider hidden gems.

  1. The Rose Gardens (Allentown)

This is a location popular for wedding photographs, walks, and viewing the beauty of the rose gardens. There is a 1.3-mile loop for you to stroll around and enjoy the gardens. There are many types of All American beautiful roses. For as long as my wife can remember the Rose Gardens have been a beautiful sight every summer to see and walk amongst.

2. Musikfest (Bethlehem)

A music festival during the month of August every summer is a must-see and must-do in the Lehigh Valley. There are plenty of artists to see in performances, food, and beer. The chances are if you're from the area already you're most likely going to run into people who you know while attending Musikfest. A great Lehigh Valley gem to go to for the first time! You won't regret attending.

3. Li'l-Le-Hi Trout Nursery (Allentown)

After letting (If you have children) your children feed the fish you can walk through the Lehigh Parkway along the Little Lehigh enjoying nature at its finest in the center of Allentown. This is a perfect way to spend a warm sunny spring day with the family.

4. Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival (Center Valley)

This is a summertime activity that my wife and her father did when she was a teen at Desales University. Because this is outside at their amphitheater which makes this a family-friendly environment. Of course you do have to keep an eye on the weather leading up to the night you are going to be attending and see if the show will still go on if rain comes our way.

5. Lost River Caverns (Hellertown)

Here you can take a 30-45 minute tour through the caverns. Make sure to wear close toed shoes like sneakers for this tour, and bring a sweat shirt along it can be chilly down there. They have a cute little gift shop as well. We took our young son and he a blast on the tour.

These are just 5 gems in the Lehigh Valley for you, friends, and family can check out. Keep an eye on my blogs I will be doing a weekly Hidden Gem post for the Lehigh Valley!
