Weekend Winter Getaways

Tis the season for winter getaways in and around the Lehigh Valley. For those who are outdoor enthusiasts, there will be a bit for you and perhaps you're other half who prefers to observe the winter wonderland from the indoors.


One of the best parts about living here in Pennsylvania is our seasons. We have 4 beautiful and different seasons here. From viewing the stunning fall colors, skiing and tubing in the winter, summer star viewing in Cherry Hill, and finally Spring hikes on our many mountains; we have 4 glorious seasons. Today we're going to focus on winter, the white fluffy season.


If you're looking to escape the winter blues for a change of scenery, here are some winter weekend getaways in and around the Lehigh Valley.


  1. The Lodge at Woodloch (Poconos, PA)

This winter oasis not only has outdoor activities, but also a spa for some pampering. They have a farm-to-table dining experience. After you and/or your spouse spend some time outside enjoying perhaps the snow, you can enjoy a spa treatment or a farm-to-table meal with your loved one.


2. Historic Hotel Bethlehem (Bethlehem, Pa)

If you're looking for a getaway without having to leave the Lehigh Valley this one is for you. Historic Hotel Bethlehem is in the absolutely stunning downtown. If you happen to score a room during the holiday season, you are in for a treat. Between the holiday lights in Bethlehem and the market downtown, you will surely have a great time.


3. Townley House (Easton, Pa)

This boutique hotel is in downtown Easton. If you haven't been to Easton before, you absolutely have to go. Easton is such a lovely hip town right at the border of New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The building is historic and incredibly well taken care of.


4. Glasbern (Fogelsvile, Pa)

If you're looking for a real-life farm experience this is the place for you. Nestled on 150 acres of farmland you will be transformed from city life to the country with a snap of your fingers. After taking a leisurely hike you can take a wine-tasting tour. What a lovely weekend winter getaway.


5. Americus Hotel (Allentown, PA)

This lovely gem was built in 1926 and although had done renovations, this is still a great place to stay for a quick winter getaway. This hotel just steps

away from downtown, and you are goign to live this.
